Seminar with Dr. Bobo Lo at SCEEUS

On the 4th of September SCEEUS held a seminar with Dr. Bobo Lo to introduce and discuss his new book Disorderly Society: Rethinking Global Governance in an Age of Anarchy. Dr. Bobo Lo is an independent international relations research analyst who, additionally, is an Associate Research Fellow with the Russia/NIS Center at IFRI, and a Non-Resident Fellow with the Lowy Institute. Bobo Lo has previously been Head of the Russia and Eurasia Programme at Chatham House, and Deputy Head of Mission at the Australian Embassy in Moscow. James Nixey, acting head of research at SCEEUS, moderated the discussion.

In his book Disorderly Society: Rethinking Global Governance in an Age of Anarchy Dr. Bobo Lo presents his thoughts on how the post-cold war order has been demolished and what kind of system that, in his opinion, should follow. The following discussions  centered around how current geopolitical and security issues will reflect and play into in his suggested future world order. In discussions with participants, Dr. Bobo Lo further developed his thoughts on what roles contemporary great powers like China and Russia could play in the future, whilst also including perspectives on how the West should treat these actors today, in terms of communication and cooperation.
