SCEEUS deltog vid expertseminarium i Bryssel

On Wednesday 26 March, SCEEUS Analyst Klara Lindström participated in three expert events in Brussels to discuss the role of the EU in any potential negotiations to secure a just and stable peace in Ukraine. Experts, diplomats, journalists, and members of the European Parliament were among the participants.
The discussions explored the EU’s foreign policy and security instruments which might be used to help ensure and secure peace. The discussions also concerned the red lines for Europe and Ukraine in any negotiations, the importance of accountability and upholding democratic values, and the possibility of building peace through strength autonomously in Europe.
It was noted that while threat perceptions differ across Europe, external pressures can generate a sense of urgency that bodes well for concrete and swift action, enabling the EU to demonstrate its relevance as a geopolitical actor through deeds.
The events were organised by Ukrainian Prism in partnership with the European Policy Centre (EPC), the Mission of Ukraine to the EU, the Open Society Institute, and the Stockholm Centre for Eastern European Studies (SCEEUS).
