Hugo von Essen är analytiker vid Centrum för Östeuropastudier (SCEEUS).
Hugo har tidigare arbetat på Utrikesdepartementets OSSE-sekretariat och praktiserat på Utrikesdepartementets enhet för Östeuropa och Centralasien. Hugo har en kandidatexamen i statskunskap från Uppsala universitet, och har även studerat ryska, psykologi, idéhistoria och juridik vid Uppsala universitet, Stockholms universitet, och Saint Petersburg State University.
