Breakfast discussion on Ukraine’s domestic politics and reforms in the European Parliament

At the invitation of Swedish MEP Karin Karlsbro, SCEEUS analyst Klara Lindström participated in breakfast discussion on Ukraine’s domestic politics and reforms in the European Parliament. Together with fellow speakers Inna Nelles (German-Ukrainian Bureau) and Maryna Yaroshevych (Foreign Policy Council Ukrainian Prism), they discussed how to strengthen European political will and effectively sustain reforms in Ukraine.  

The discussion was a valuable reminder that Ukraine’s EU integration is not only a key political priority, but part of long-term Ukrainian survival and resilience. The speakers highlighted large impact of understanding local perspectives and continuing partnerships on all levels of governance in implementing reforms: from local authorities to Verkhovna Rada and EU institutions. The implementation of the Kos-Kachka reform plan is playing a leading role in the accession process now, shaping a comprehensive reform approach in the complicated internal Ukrainian and international contexts.
