Roundtable discussion at SCEEUS: Ukraine’s EU accession

On March 3rd, SCEEUS organised a roundtable discussion with Swedish experts on Ukraine's EU accession process. The discussions aimed at identifying opportunities and challenges on Ukraine's path to EU accession, which is taking place in parallel with the full-scale invasion.

The discussions touched on the effect and importance of Sweden's support to Ukraine were discussed, how Ukraine is doing in the preparations for the screening process with a special focus on waste management, and the security and political aspects of Ukrainian EU membership.

The discussions were attended by several Swedish representatives from, among others, the Foreign Affairs Administration, SIDA, the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency, Avfall Sverige, and Minister for Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade Benjamin Dousa. The discussions were moderated by Elsa Håstad (MFA) and Fredrik Wesslau (SCEEUS).
