Roundtable with Ukrainian MP Yaroslav Yurchyshyn on Russia’s future and European security

On Wednesday, 24 September, SCEEUS organised a roundtable discussion with Yaroslav Yurchyshyn, Member of the Ukrainian Parliament, as guest. The discussion was moderated by Stefan Ingvarsson, Analyst at SCEEUS.

Yurchyshyn described Ukraine’s work within its temporary special commission for the development of state policy towards Russia’s indigenous peoples. In addition, he presented Ukraine’s perspective on Russia as a potentially failed state. Furthermore, Ukraine’s view on the decentralisation of Russia as a tool for decolonisation and security in Europe was discussed.

Through his political work, Yurchyshyn has served on the Ukrainian parliamentary committee for freedom of expression and has participated in anti-corruption efforts. He has previously been Chair of Transparency International.
