Eastern Partnership Network Meeting in Stockholm

On Thursday 10 April, SCEEUS Analyst Klara Lindström participated at the Eastern Partnership network meeting in Stockholm to discuss Ukraine’s and Moldova’s EU integration. Swedish civil society organisations, the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida) and The Swedish Psychological Defence Agency (MPF) also participated.

The meeting began with a presentation about the democratic backsliding in Georgia under the ruling Georgian Dream party. Thereafter, funding opportunities in the region and Sweden’s strategy for Eastern Europe were discussed. MPF informed about disinformation and hybrid threats in the region, as well as security risks related to media manipulation. Klara Lindström from SCEEUS presented the challenges and opportunities in Ukraine’s and Moldova’s EU’s accession processes. The presentation also addressed myths and scepticism related to Ukraine’s EU membership.
